Overall Highlights
- 462 people volunteered as individuals, including meal coordinators.
- We had 308 volunteer groups, ranging in size from 2 to 34.
- 214 volunteer groups spent $123,100 on meals in the shelters.
- Volunteers gave a total of 30,038 hours of their time. This is equivalent to 14.5
full-time employees.
- Simpson received $132,760 worth of in-kind donations. An increase of $6,247 from 2006.
Program Snapshot
- 16 volunteers provided 193 hours of tutoring to K-5th graders.
- Cargill hosted the Family Housing Summer Barbeque. 79 family members enjoyed the
summer event.
- Lauren Braswell and volunteers from Normandale Hylands UMC, provided over 200 volunteer hours, food and supplies for the annual Family Housing holiday party.
- In addition to being our single largest financial contributor, Target employees gave hundreds of hours of volunteer time.
- 74 volunteer groups provided $20,184 worth of holiday gifts to 372 housing program participants.
- Volunteers provided overnight men’s shelter coverage for 73% of the nights (an increase over last year).
- Volunteers made over 40,000 sandwiches for shelter guests to take for lunch.
