Men's and Women's Shelters
Overnight Shelter Volunteer
Assist with admitting guests, distributing supplies, supervising shelter and interacting with guests at the Men's Shelter. Year round activity. Preferable time commitment is once a month. Volunteer works a 13 hour shift, from 5:45 pm - 7:00 am, paired with another volunteer and sleeping half the night. Training Provided.

Shelter Evening Meal Provider
With friends, family or coworkers, plan a menu using your favorite recipes or recipes from our website, purchase groceries, cook and serve a meal to approximately 80 guests. Groups will have the opportunity to tour the shelter and learn about homelessness in our community.

Provide food for, prepare and serve breakfast for shelter guests
in our men's shelter. Access to kitchen on-site. Needed year around.
May be one time or ongoing with a commitment of about 3 hours per
meal. Groups welcome.
Breakfast Calendar
Sandwiches
Prepare meat and cheese sandwiches for shelter guests to take for
lunch and breakfast. Sandwiches are prepared and then individually wrapped and frozen to be used as needed.
May be prepared on-site or off-site. Groups welcome.
Women's Shelter Evening Meal Provider
Provide food, prepare and server dinner for 25 shelter guests. Meals can be made in advance or prepared at the shelter.Needed year round. May be one time or ongoing with a commitment of about 1 hour per meal on-site.

Collect donations for the shelter and transitional housing programs from our agency wish list.

Summer BBQs
Guests of both shelters gather for a summer BBQ's on a Sunday afternoon in June, July, and August. Volunteers may deliver food for the BBQ, or provide food, cook, and eat with guests.

Family Housing
Adopt-A-Family
Purchase and wrap gifts for families during the holiday season. Groups welcome.
Birthday Bags Provider
Make birthday bags for kids in transitional housing. Bags include: small gift, cake mix, frosting, balloons, candles, kool-aid and candy. Volunteers purchase the supplies and deliver the bags to the Simpson offices.
Children's Activity Assistant
Work with children on arts and crafts activities and assist with supervising children on monthly outings.
Children's Activity Coordinator
Develop and lead activities for small groups of children at monthly outings.
Holiday Food Basket Provider
Sponsor food baskets for Family Housing families for holidays. Include $20 gift certificate for turkey, chicken or ham and basket of other foods for the meal.
SOAR Bag Lunch Provider
Purchase, prepare and deliver bag lunches for families for monthly outings.

Purchase, prepare and serve a meal for families.

Welcome Home Basket Providers
Sponsor "Welcome Home" baskets for families as they enter the Transitional Housing Program. Baskets include: a gift certificate to a discount store and household necessities totaling no more than $50. Volunteers purchase the supplies and drop the baskets off at SHS.
Single Adult Rental Assistance Program

Purchase and wrap gifts for adults participating in the SARAP program during the holiday season.
