Adult Shelter Connect

Effective January 1, 2024, the Adult Shelter Connect (ASC) office no longer operates out of St. Olaf Catholic Church.

ASC now operates primarily by phone, with in-person hours on Mondays 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at 160 Glenwood Ave.


If you are 18+ and experiencing a housing emergency in Hennepin County, please call the Hennepin Shelter Hotline at 612-204-8200You will be connected with a trained specialist who will help you find temporary, safe housing that fits your needs, including adult shelters in Minneapolis.

If you are new to the system or have not received shelter within the last 90 days: Call the Hennepin Shelter Hotline and press 1
If you have previously been placed at a Minneapolis adult shelter: Call the Hennepin Shelter Hotline and press 2 to reach ASC directly.
Hennepin Shelter Hotline Operating Hours:
  • 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday–Friday 
  • 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., weekends and holidays
Shelter Beds for 18+ Individuals Become Available:
  • 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • 1:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., weekends and holidays

Parking

Visitors may park in the lower (west) lot. Please look for the yellow wall at the far end of the parking lot.

Visitors are also welcome to use the main (north) entrance for accessibility.

Transit

Our office is located between the Glenwood Ave. & Lyndale Ave. bus stop and the Glenwood Ave. & 12th St. N. bus stop.


About ASC

  • The ASC operates on behalf of the Single Adult Shelter Collaborative, which is made up of the agencies providing shelter to single individuals over age 18 in Hennepin County.
  • Simpson Housing Services oversees the day-to-day operations on behalf of the Single Adult Shelter Collaborative.
  • Adult Shelter Connect is funded by Hennepin County’s Human Services and Public Health Department.
