In December 2017, Simpson Housing Services was named the beneficiary and owner of the Simpson United Methodist Church (SUMC) building, located at 2740 1st Avenue South. We are dedicated to continuing the work this generous congregation started to help people experiencing homelessness by providing safe and dignified shelter.

On behalf of Simpson Housing Services, we would like to acknowledge the difficult process the SUMC congregation has been engaged in after 135 years of worship in this community. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the SUMC congregation and honored to carry forth their legacy of social justice.

We are excited to be engaged in program design, focused on a higher level of dignity and improved housing placement outcomes for our shelter guests. Simultaneously, we are committed to the ongoing stability of our supportive housing programs while we embark on this new chapter.
